Our story began in 1956 when Arnold Jens Kirkegaard founded the company on integrity, craftsmanship, and respect for the families we serve. The mission was clear from the start: build well, build honestly, and create homes that endure.
That commitment has carried through generations and remains at the core of everything we do. Over the decades, our work has become part of the Denver landscape. We understand Colorado’s architecture, climate, and lifestyle because we have been building here for decades.
Though formally incorporated in its current structure in 2010, our roots run much deeper. Every home reflects years of experience in custom construction and luxury renovation throughout the Denver metro area.
Today, we continue to build with the same care and intention, creating homes that honor both legacy and modern living.

AJ Kirkegaard contractors are honest, reliable and kind. We had some smaller projects and they addressed them as thoughtfully and seriously as any large home remodel. We felt heard and enjoyed working with their team. We would use them for any of our home projects or remodels in the future.
